Although the east coast of Florida is known for its exposure to hurricanes, Jacksonville weather rarely is impacted by tropical systems. This is due to the inward curvature of the coastline along the northeastern Florida coast.
Even without the affects of hurricanes, Jacksonville weather often tends to be very tropical in nature. Temperatures are generally mild throughout the year with average rainfall amounts of over 50 inches.
